Educational Support Workers (ESWs)

An Educational Support Worker (ESW) provides individual assistance to students with disabilities in order to enhance their learning experience and help them to fulfil their academic potential. Examples include academic notetakers, personal assistants, readers and scribes.

The role of an academic notetaker is to record accurate and detailed notes on content delivered in lectures or other oral presentations for a student.

An academic personal assistant addresses the personal needs specific to the student.

In examinations, students may have a reader who will read the questions to them. A scribe, on the other hand, writes down as the student dictates the answer.

If you require any of these services or have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at bookings@bridgeinterpreting.ie or +353 87 9046594.
